Take a Break is a new locally made production, showcasing some of the best locations to visit in the South Island NZ. This fun interactive 1 hour show, presented by Reanna Smith, visits various South Island districts and towns. We visit fabulous places to stay, great places to eat and we enjoy many fun adventures and activities along the way plus we get to show off that beautiful New Zealand scenery.
Targeting both the domestic and International tourism we hope that Take a Break will encourage travellers to visit our gorgeous country.
Tourism in the South was hit hard post the 2011 earthquakes. With the decline in visitors and struggling tourism operators it seemed only right that Visitor Television (VTV) be re-erected on CTV. In 2012, Visitor Television (VTV) began as a half hour program showcasing Canterbury. In 2013, Visitor Television (VTV) partnered with the Take a Break paper and website to offer New Zealand’s first ever multimedia package and extended to an hour long show, venturing not only around Canterbury but the West Coast and many other amazing South Island destinations. The multi-media package targets both the Domestic and International visitor markets.
Host Reanna Smith informs in a fun and interactive way, road tripping around the South Island stopping off in smaller South Island towns, meeting locals and providing viewers with knowledge about the local area as well as experiencing fun filled adventures, places to view, eat and stay. Take a Break plays an integral part in the continuing growth of local tourism and locally produced television.
The show is Hosted by Reanna Smith. Reanna began her broadcasting career with CTV in 2007, with a vast experience in production particularly in the areas of producing and directing. Reanna merged into the presenting role in 2012 and has enjoyed showcasing some of the most spectacular places the South Island has to offer.
